Busy, Busy Girl!!

November I was booked booked booked!!! Now that Christmas is approaching I will be winding down and spending a few weeks with my family before beginning the insanity all over again next year!!!

It has been a while!

Wow it has been a while since I blogged last. Things have been going great and have also been quite crazy!!! I have been trying to spend a bit more time with my family and getting my oldest son ready to start senior kindergarten! (How time flies!) Still no news on the Isaiah Tubbs disaster only to say that they have been continually getting bad reviews all summer (Their current rating on Trip Advisor is a 2/5) and when the problems from the June wedding were brought to the attention of the BBB they didn't even have the courtesy to respond to them so the hole is getting deeper and deeper, and if I owned a venue like that, I would care a bit more about keeping the business in the hands of good people who aren't going to run it into the ground with their brutal customer service instead of letting the staff treat guests like pardon the expression "DOG POOH" I will keep you up to date on how things go. I am currently preparing documents for a lawyer.

EVENT DAYCARE IS FINALLY HERE!!!!!

We have finally launched our new Event/Wedding Daycare service it is up on the website and booking up quickly!!! We are so excited about the launch and can't wait to get it all underway!! This department is being headed up by a certified teacher with the Durham District School Board Kathleen O'Mara! We look forward to working with her in the future!!!

We have just launched our new website! We hope you all enjoy it!!! It is still a work in progress but with business growing at such a quick pace the work will take a little extra time. We are very proud of this installment of our website and hope that it stays with us for quite some time!

Are they worthy of a Link???

I'll tell you all they aren't worth a nickel in my books!!! The staff is incompetent they serve terrible food! And their contract isn't worth the paper it is written on! I can't go into detail because this is going to court however what I can tell you is this place isn't ever going to be used by my company EVER!!!! What a NIGHTMARE!!! This would be a great story for an after story on Wedding SOS. Isaiah Tubbs Resort is not a good place to get married at all!!! Well the venue is beautiful however the staff are much to be desired! Check out their crappy rating on Trip Advisor this should tell you everything!!! When everything is over and done with I'll fill you all in on the details!

Veniot-Rivers Wedding Week!

Well this week has been insane! I have put in close on 60 hours and we haven't even begun the festivities! I only just got rough agendas from Isaiah Tubbs on Tuesday and have had to do itineraries, instruction sheets and everything else this week what a crazy ride!!! I have also been going back and forth with the agendas as they were a mess when I received them. Today I will be going to Picton with the Bride and Groom to get the festivities under way! I hope all goes smoothly and I will return on Monday with a new blog to let you all know how things went! Take Care and have a great Canada Day Weekend!

Veniot-Rivers Itineraries

Well no itineraries yet and we are two weeks until the wedding. Isaiah Tubbs has yet to provide agendas!! What kind of business is this place running???

Grand Central Station!

Today was pick up day!!! Lots of appointments in a short period of time!!! It has been crazy around here today! Now I'm off for some family time! My son Daniel is playing soccer tonight. It will be great to get a break!

Busy busy week!!!

This week I am assembling invitations for 2 weddings and a bridal shower!!! This is a complementary service that I offer to all of my couples as assembly can sometimes be complicated and irritating to the busy bride and groom! But it very time comsuming for me so I will be very busy this week!

Corrie & Kevin's Wedding!!!

I had the absolute pleasure of coordinating Corrie & Kevin's wedding yesterday. They couldn't have had a more fantastic day chosen for this event. The weather was spectacular, they had a wonderful turnout and best of all they shared this wonderful day with their two small children Kevin & Jaiden! The wedding was held at Gen. W. Sikorski Polish Veteran's Hall outside in a quaint and beautiful little valley hidden away from everything! It doesn't get any better then that!! Congratulations guys! All the best to you and your beautiful little family!

Water bottle labels!

Jennifer and Brett have decided that they are going to personalize bottles of water to give to their guests! I think that this is such a thoughtful idea considering their guests will be travelling on the Sunday after their wedding and it will be very nice for them to have a bottle of water for the road! I am working on the mock up for this label today!

One week to go until Corrie and Kevin's wedding!!!

Corrie is a friend of mine from Public and High School! Her and Kevin are high school sweethearts isn't that great!!! I don't think that happens too often anymore! They are getting married in one week at Gen. Sikorski's Polish Hall in Oshawa. They have a beautiful little valley there nestled in a small wooded area I think the wedding will be absolutely breath taking providing we have no rain! I'm very excited to be coordinating for them as it is also a personal job for me!

Rachels proofs

Rachel came back today and approved the proofs which might I say turned out beautiful! So a printing I will start!!! haha

Veniot-Rivers Itineraries

I was supposed to start the itineraries for the Veniot-Rivers wedding today however, the venue Isaiah Tubbs Resort has not yet provided me with a rough agenda for their end so delayed I will be :( they 'd better hurry up!

Chris & Cindy & the Pockets Invitations!

Well they came back and saw the new Pocket invitation line and they were as impressed as Marie was! They decided to order a chocolate brown pocket with a nice dusty blue accent! I'm sure it will look terrific!

Bridal Shower Invites

I met with a very sweet sister of a Bride today named Rachel. She came to me looking for unique and cost effective bridal shower invitations and truffle boxes!!! They need quite a few invites and can't very well handwrite them all as they are combining 3 showers which will end up being about 75 guests so printing them seems to be the better option! I am going to make a cute square two tiered invitation with white foreground and pink background using pink hibiscus as the graphic. I am also going to make matching thank you cards (square folding tent cards) I am hoping they will turn out fantastic!!! The truffle boxes we are going to order are very elegant. They are square and we are ordering them in two different tones of pink which can be mixed and matched or kept all one colour! We are ordering them from Hortense B. Hewitt Canada. As I am an official dealer for that company which recently came to Canada.

Marie beat Chris and Cindy to it!!!

Today I had the pleasure of meeting with a very spunky bride Marie Dillon!!! She is getting married at Royal Ashburn Golf & Country Club on November 7, 2008. You'll find her wedsite on my website! Well, Marie came to me for her invitations so she was the first to see the new Pockets collection and let me tell you she loved them!!!! Marie ordered a very elegant white pocket tied with black satin ribbon! I'm sure it will look beautiful and elegant which is just the look Marie is looking for!

How refreshing!!! I have finally met a couple where the groom has taken an initiative and made the appointment with me for invitations! They have had a look at a few of my books we spoke about different ideas for custom made ideas! They are going to come back next week to look at my newest addition to my invitation line Pocket Invitations by Carlson Craft!!! Can't wait to see their reaction!

Chair Verdict is in!!!

What a joke! Isaiah Tubbs have offered to rent the bride and groom plastic folding chairs which are definitely not suitable for everyone and then the bride and groom would have to fork out money for covers. Also as the wedding is on the beach another concern could be rain I asked about back up rain plans...well... they don't have a back up plan for rain! What kind of resort is this??? lol The saga continues!!!

Not enough Chairs??? What the hell???

What venue do you know rents their facility offering it for more guests than can be seated in the facility??? Well Isaiah Tubbs has done that! Not sure if we are all supposed to eat in shifts or if they will rectify this situation by renting some chairs??? I guess we shall see!!!

The resort visit!!

Well Phil and I visited Isaiah Tubbs Resort in Picton and found it fairly dated. It is a very nice location but it needs some work... okay a lot of work!!! We will make it beautiful for the bride and groom as this was their choice. They chose the resort because it was the place they went for their first getaway together!!! However, I can honestly say in my opinion I will not use this resort for any other event until I hear of improvements.

Busy, Busy, Busy!!!

Today I will be meeting with Jen Veniot to go over wedding ideas and a decorating plan! Then this afternoon I am going with Phil deSousa of Neptune Sound Co. to look at Isaiah Tubbs Resort. I'll post my thoughts a little later about this venue!

Dan Deveau

I had a meeting today with Dan Deveau of Life in a Flash Photography! We basically just had a very casual kitchen table meeting to throw ideas around and to get a feel of how we could work together! It was awesome and very productive! Stay tuned for some very innovative, fresh ideas and plans to come alive later this year!

Another booking for June!

Today I had the pleasure of meeting an awesome couple!!! Jennifer Veniot and Brett Rivers! They need partial planning and it will be my absolute pleasure to help them with whatever they need!!! They are having a local Ontario Resort Wedding at Isaiah Tubbs Resort in Picton on Canada Day weekend! I can't wait to get started on this one!
